Call for Applications: Tanzanian Postgraduate AMR Genomics and Plate-Sweep Metagenomics Capacity-Building Initiative

We are pleased to share an external postgraduate research and capacity-building opportunity for continuing MSc and PhD students across Tanzania. The Tanzanian Postgraduate AMR Genomics and Plate-Sweep Metagenomics Capacity-Building Initiative is organised by the Department of Microbiology and Parasitology at St. Francis University College of Health and Allied Sciences, in collaboration with Professor Lesley Hoyles of Nottingham Trent University, United Kingdom. Led by Dr Reuben S. Maghembe, the initiative will select one or two postgraduate researchers for mentorship and collaborative training in antimicrobial-resistance genomics, priority Enterobacterales, plate-sweep metagenomics, bioinformatics and scientific data analysis. Application deadline: Thursday, 20 August 2026

Call for Collaboration 2026

African Collaboration in Cancer Chemoimmunotherapy, Biophysics and Mathematical Modeling

African researchers are invited to express interest in a multidisciplinary collaboration examining chemoimmunotherapy response in non-small-cell lung cancer through transcriptomics, drug-transport biophysics and mathematical modeling. Core analyses and an initial manuscript have been completed. The current phase seeks specialist scholarly input for biological interpretation, clinical framing, methodological refinement and critical review. No major new primary analysis is currently anticipated.

Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified Tanzanian professionals to collaborate on the development and possible implementation of a One Health grant proposal focused on community-level surveillance, zoonotic disease risk reduction, environmental health, food-system safety and practical molecular capacity building in Tanzania.
